Noticeably so, yes- although I doubt she'd be willing to risk trying publication in a monstrous industry either, I have to admit.

[She looks briefly solemn.]

Of course, you'd know better than I would on that subject. I only saw... the aftereffects of that whole disaster. Everyone involved does seem to be doing better these days, thankfully.

I know less than you might think, honestly. She didn't become the Royal Scientist until years after my disappearance.

True, but you do know her prior to her appointment to the position, which is certainly more than I do.

Somewhat. She did work with us for a year or two, until...

[He waves a hand. That. The incident. The one he refuses to really go into with most. But he's doing better than he was six months ago, when he could hardly walk a straight line.]

Mm.

[Muffet nods in understanding and doesn't request that he elaborate. It's his business, he doesn't have to talk about it if he doesn't want to.]

Quite skilled at the work, I'd imagine.

[voidster]

She is. Anything to do with robotics or computer programming is second nature to her... and like pulling teeth for me.

Well, we all have our specialties. I do quite well with chemistry and mathematics- rather by necessity, given my profession- but computer programming and your particular brand of physics are both closed books to me.

Closed, and also probably written in wingdings.

There are some written in plain English, but they've left magic out of the equations... for obvious reasons. Someone may correct them someday.

[She smiles and asks wryly:]

And has that someone not done so yet because he's currently frantically trying to catch up on absolutely everything?

[Everything he wrote in the past was erased. Ha. Ha.]

I enjoy it.

[Welp, that's horrible.]

It does sound like a very engaging pastime, provided you remember to take breaks for meals occasionally.

I just ate, as a matter of fact.

[And he clicks a bone finger against the plate, teasingly.]

A fact which delights me beyond measure, I assure you.

I wonder what makes you think I wouldn't?

I've heard stories. Mostly from Sans, because he's figured out that being sufficiently amusing can sometimes get him a discount.

Does that only work for him?

[prettypurpleparlor]

Generally, no, but I do have to give him credit for consistently being better at amusing me than most people.

[voidster]

He worked with us, too, so I know. He was always able to make us laugh and put us at ease.

[That, and Sans is his son. Of course he knows.]

One hopes he stuck to humorous wordplay- I could see practical jokes being very unfortunate from a lab safety standpoint.

Not really, if you limit yourself to filling drawers with marshmallows or wrapping up all of someone's things in gift paper. With little bows on it.

I am legitimately impressed that he could find that many marshmallows on short notice. I order them wholesale for some of the things I bake and they always take far too long to deliver.

My stash mysteriously disappeared the same day he did that.

...You had a marshmallow stash? I would have never guessed.

You know how they say you are what you eat.

My sort of skeletons are really just very, very tightly compressed marshmallow.
